Superintendent


Jerry Lager - Has been involved in education for nearly 12 years, serving as teacher, assistant principal, and intern superintendent. Jerry has a passion for high needs students and has worked with the child and adolescent population at the San Marcos Treatment Center for nearly 15 years. Jerry earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, has completed the superintendent's program, and is currently finishing his Ph.D. at Texas State University. He served in the United States Army prior to moving to Texas from his home state of Wisconsin.  Jerry is an avid sports fan, and is married to his lovely wife, Brittany.

Director of Operations

SFC. Christopher Allison, US Army (Ret). - Has over 20 years of decorated military service as a Military Police Officer. During Chris's years of service as an Operations Manager, he received, coordinated, and assigned tasking to five middle managers; and he was responsible for advising superiors in preparation of operational requirements, operational execution, procedures and ensuring lawful compliance of regulations. Chris has been an operations manager for 175-man organizations on humanitarian missions, peacekeeping missions, as well as wartime operations. Chris was distinguished as the top Army recruiter in Central Texas for 2001, and he was identified as the best trainer in several organizations and routinely trained soldiers on new equipment, processes, techniques and procedures. Under his leadership over 40 first line subordinates earned awards and recommendations in competitions and performance of duties. Chris developed and executed qualification standards for all United States Army 18th Military Police Brigade Physical Security Teams deploying to both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Chris's love for helping and molding individuals transferred over to his new found career as an educator. Chris served as a teacher's aide, teacher, coach, truancy officer, and an assistant principal prior to joining Ki Charter.  Chris holds a Master's Degree in Business Management with a Human Resources concentration from Wayland Baptist, San Antonio. Chris has been married for 29 years and has three children.


Principal

Paul Camden

Paul Camden
-After serving six years in the U.S. Army, Paul worked as an engineering and repair technician with Schlumberger, AT&T, and Simco Electronics.  After fourteen years in the industry, Paul returned to school to pursue a passion for teaching, earning a master’s degree in literature and a Principal certification through the Educational Leadership Program at Texas State University.  Since 2005, Paul taught first-year writing at Texas State University for two years and then English Language Arts as both a high school and junior high teacher.  In his classroom, Paul has seen tremendous success with struggling learners, especially those with severe behavior challenges, and his experience with this population of students and with the San Marcos Treatment Center campus where he has served as a Mental Health Associate, and Instructional Aide, and as a teacher makes his contribution to the Administration at Ki Charter invaluable.


Associate Principal

Drew Nudd
Drew Nudd -
Mr. Nudd received his Master’s degree in Criminal Justice with a focus on Juvenile Justice from Texas State University-San Marcos in 2008. Mr. Nudd has over 10 years’ experience working in conjunction with the San Marcos Treatment Center’s educational programming in various roles. Mr. Nudd started as a direct care staff for the San Marcos Treatment Center and soon afterwards became an Instructional Aide for the respective math department. Additionally, Mr. Nudd was a Secondary Math and Special Education teacher for six years before receiving his Principal certification through the Educational Leadership department from Texas State University in 2015. Mr. Nudd has been a part of Ki Charter’s leadership team since the first year of operation providing ARD Facilitation, Instructional Coaching and Managing Instructional Data.



Associate Principal Intern

Ms. Durham

Adrienne Durham
- Ms. Durham graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Psychology in 2005. Upon graduation she worked at the San Marcos Treatment Center for two years as a Unit Manager. She then taught English and Special Education at San Marcos High School for 8 years before transitioning to Ki Charter Academy. Ms. Durham is currently attending Texas State University to earn her masters in Educational Leadership with her principal certification. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking with her dog, and spending time with family.



Director of Special Education


La'Keisha Brite - Has 10 years of experience in public education.  Mrs. Brite's experiences include being Interim Director of Special Education for Manor ISD, Executive Coordinator of Special Education for Manor ISD, RTI Campus Coordinator, 504 Campus Coordinator, Summer School Assistant Principal, Administrative Intern, third grade teacher, fourth grade teacher, fourth grade team leader, mentor teacher, Balanced Literacy Specialist, and Academic Interventionist .

Mrs. Brite has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood from Austin Community College, a Bachelors of Applied Arts and Science with a focus on Elementary Education from Texas State University, and a Masters of Education (School Administration) from Concordia University. Her certifications include EC-4th, ESL, Special Education, and Principal.
When Mrs. Brite is not supporting and serving our teachers and students, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 19 years and their three children, reading inspirational books, taking road trips, cooking, and shopping.
