School Safety and Security
Ki Charter is working diligently to ensure the safety of students, personnel, visitors, the community, and its campuses through efforts guided by district policies and state and federal guidelines. Ki Charter welcomes input and feedback from all stakeholders with regard to the safety and security of its organization.
School Safety and Security Committee
The School Safety and Security Committee evaluates the safety and security measures and policies implemented in the district and makes recommendations to the governing board for improvements or revisions.
Campus Safety Team
The Campus Safety Team evaluates the procedures, drills, and physical safety of each campus and makes recommendations to the School Safety and Security Committee.

Threat Assessment Team
The Threat Assessment Team investigates threats either made or posed toward the campus by individuals or groups who may present a danger to themselves or others. The Threat Assessment Team works in coordination with the San Marcos community, the San Marcos Treatment Center, local law enforcement, and community mental health resources to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and personnel. The Threat Assessment Team investigates all reports and with the cooperation of appropriate agencies and/or local resources determines appropriate actions if warranted. The Threat Assessment Team makes recommendations to the School Safety and Security Committee.
Reporting a Threat
There are four ways to report a threat, either there was a direct threat made, or a there is a potential threat posed to Ki Charter or one of its campuses.
